  • DS- Data Center Technical Analyst-Server (BJ)  
       

           Role Summary:
  • To work within the ADP Platform Product team with a specific focus on design, implementation and support for ADP’s International offices & customer base


      Main Duties and Responsibilities:

    • To provide telephone/mail/call logging support to customers with computer systems which are hosted by ADP
    • To perform regular maintenance and upgrade programs and repairs
    • To help update knowledge databases and other documentation
    • To ensure that regular back-ups are taken of all critical data and machines as detailed by management
    • To help to install/de-install hardware in the data centres as required
    • To run set procedures as defined by management on the computer systems which are hosted
    • To guide and assist any junior staff within the department
    • To implement and maintain LAN/WAN
    • To monitor, diagnose, analyze, and resolve hardware, software and communication incidents and performance issues in time
    • To monitor performance of network and servers to identify potential problems and bottlenecks
    • To attend customer sites where necessary
    • To performance office internal IP infrastructure tasks
    • To work extended hours where necessary
    • To undertake any other duties that may reasonably be requested

             Experience and/or Qualifications Required:

          • RedHat – RHCE, IBM CS for AIX, or equivalent
          • Nice to have: Windows Server (MCSA/E)
          • At least 3 years of data center administration experience
          • Hands-on technical experience of Unix, SAN, LAN, WAN, VPN, Firewall, Windows server, Data centre management, Helpdesk management, SLA tools and services
          • Hands-on experience with hardware installation, upgrade, and maintenance
          • Demonstrated troubleshooting ability

           

               Personal Skills Required:

            • Ability to work unsupervised and prioritise own workload
            • Good communication skills both written and verbal are essential
            • Work both individually and as part of a team
            • Responsibility – recognise when problems need escalating
            • Accountability – be able to take ownership of problems and see them through to a satisfactory conclusion
            • Personal presentation must be professsional at all times as attendance at customer meetings/sites will be required
            • Presentation/Training skills desirable
