  • DS – QC Analyst (BJ)  
       

Role Summary:

  • To assure the quality and stability of Autoline applications through a structured testing and evaluation process.
  • To contribute to the preparation of functional and technical development specifications.
  • To maintain the useability of software for its intended use.
  • To develop and maintain supporting documentation (e.g. helpfiles and release notes) for the application software.
  • To form part of the team which ensures that Autoline applications maintain their market leading position around the world.

Key Requirements:

  • An extensive knowledge of the Autoline application software
  • A reasonable understanding of current operating systems (UNIX, MS Windows etc.).
  • A reasonable understanding of the current application development tools (KCML).
  • A good understanding of current MS applications such as Word, Powerpoint and Excel as well as HTML editing tools.
  • Have a willingness to learn new tools and technologies.
  • A working knowledge of the retail and wholesale automotive distribution process. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Test fixes, enhancements and new functionality developed for Autoline.
  • Develop, maintain or upgrade the help files and release documentation for fixes, enhancements and new functionality, in keeping with industry standards, market needs and in line with the product release schedule.
  • Assist Technical Authors with their product related queries as required.
  • Assist and advise as necessary in the creation and maintenance of standard data files.
  • Make best use of the outline documentation provided by the analyst/programmer in the test and documentation processes.
  • Provide familiarisation training on new software to other staff and customers where required.
  • Assist in the implementation of pilot versions of new software including attendance at customer sites where necessary.
  • Attend customer meetings as required, documenting the results and prepare from this the outline development specifications where necessary.
  • Keep adequate records of test procedures and supporting information.
  • Ensure that all documentation development is secured on a daily basis and backed-up to an off-line medium regularly.
  • Assist support operations in the resolution of problems with application software.
  • Advise other departments as required on best practice methods in the areas of test, documentation and test systems management.
  • Good English language skill
