GV - ESS Implementation Consultant  
       


  • RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Technical setup consisting of: Creating ESS transactions and menus in SAP Portals and configuring the SAP backend system
  • Configuration of ESS workflows
  • Setup of Test and Live user for ESS
  • Testing ESS solution
  • Advising other implementation consultants on specific configuration needed for ESS functions
  • Implement client’s requirements using ADP’s Implementation Methodology and ADP GlobalView product (based on SAP)
  • Liaising with product team on enhancements to be delivered for ESS
  • Provide technical advice on Single-Signon Solutions
  • Support clients through the User Acceptance, Parallel Testing and Go-Live phases. 
  • Ensure that all deliverables (ESS Setup) is completed on time and accurately as per project schedule.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of the SAP Products, of SAP related news and developments and any developments to the product and its competitors. 
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of the ADP GlobalView template. 
  • Minimise ADP’s exposure to risk while focusing on appropriate application of the ADP GlobalView template to maximise the value to the client
  • Demonstrate proactive participation in Implementation Team forums, contribute and participate in knowledge sharing and team development. Seek to act as a mentor and actively support fellow team members in an effort to develop their respective skills.
  • Assist with 1st level support by providing telephone support to First Level Support members and Client Super Users when required.
  • Liaise with the ADP Project Manager and consultant assigned to the project, providing regular status updates and early warning of any slippage/ problems that may occur. 
  • Provide relevant on the job training and knowledge sharing for junior team members.
  • Escalate issues to project manager/ project lead including task slippage.
  • Knowledge of support methodologies including usage of an Issue tracking system.

    QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Appropriate tertiary level education or equivalent industry experience
  • 3- 5 years experienced in IT/ ERP and/or Payroll/HR Industry
  • Good technical knowledge of SAP R/3, SAP Enterprse portals, workflow and Web Technology
  • Preferred SAP Technical background either Basis or ABAP, functional Payroll/HR knowledge an advantage
  • 3-5 years SAP experience
  • General Web technology
  • SAP Enterprise Portal EP 6 experience with: user management, content management and system management
  • Able to create iViews, pages, workset and roles
  • Experience with Webdynpro ESS/MSS configuration in SAP
  • ABAP knowledge to check reports, debug etc
  • SAP authorisations
  • Internet Transaction Server knowledge
  • Workflow definition, runtime setup and trouble shooting
  • Unix knowledge
  • SAP ESS/MSS functional knowledge gained by project experience
